Darryl recently shared the accompanying photos of the Diamond Products 37kW Wire Saw cutting through old wooden fish trawlers in Cape Town before they could be disposed of. There was a total of 12 trawlers that had to be cut into more manageable chunks to make removal easier for the contractor.
The Wire Saw must be anchored onto a flat and stable surface that can withstand high pressure from the wire cutting through the material. With tides constantly changing, this was an interesting project to observe – our machine performed perfectly. This proves that the Wire Saw can be used as a multi-purpose machine, not for just cutting through concrete and steel, but in this case through wooden trawlers reinforced with steel.
