Diamond Products provides training
On Friday, 26 January 2018 the Diamond Products Team visited Coating Specialists for training, using our locally manufactured 350-floor grinder. The entire company was present during this session, which was very informative and highly successful. The trainees had the opportunity to handle the machine themselves and thereafter Scott showed them exactly how versatile and easy to use this machine is.
Click on the link below for a short video that was taken during the demonstration.

Restoring old terrazzo tiles
Terrazzo floors are an ancient type of floor created by stone masons from the Venetian period. Those that began producing terrazzo flooring used chips of marble that they saved from jobs done for wealthy clients. The marble chips are floated atop a layer of clay or concrete, creating a form of mosaic. Floors, patios, counters and walkways can all be made from this low cost alternative to actual marble. The current trend of terrazzo is to use glass chips so that the terrazzo floors can easily be made in many colours.
Terrazzo tiles have embedded chips of marble stones and other types of natural stones and cement which forms a substantial flooring surface. Terrazzo floors are sensitive and porous when not sealed correctly. Proper cleaning and maintenance can maintain the Terrazzo flooring’s brilliant shine and elegant look.
Diamond Products recently provided training to our client to restore the entrance of an apartment building in Rosebank, Johannesburg. Built in the 1950’s, the entrance of the building had very old terrazzo tiles. During the training, the first cut was done with a medium double row cup grinder followed by the handheld triple head with #60/80 grit diamond pads. The next stage was done by using the #50 - #400 resin pads. Final step was sealing the floor with MM sealer. The end result can clearly be seen on the accompanying photos. Our client then proceeded to complete the contract in this way.
