Legendary Pat Cloete retires

Legendary Pat Cloete retires

At the end of April we said goodbye to Pat Cloete, a bitter-sweet occasion for the Diamond Products Team.  Decades of hard work, dedication and building countless friendships marked her journey with us and it has contributed greatly to the foundation on which we have been able to build not only a successful business, but more importantly a business of ethics and honesty.

Pat has been part of Diamond Products since its inception in 2007, but also worked closely with Brian and Darryl since 1986 – very much part of the DNA of this company.  Pat (or Aunty Pat to countless people) have made a huge impact on many people over the years, her attention to detail whilst keeping the broader picture in mind has been invaluable.  She embraced numerous changes over the years with her well-known enthusiasm and passion, contributing greatly to the growth of Diamond Products into new markets, and always putting the customer first.

It has been said that the trouble with retirement is that you never get a day off – Pat will most likely be busier than ever, and we wish her all the happiness she so richly deserves.  She will be missed by both colleagues and customers alike!

Diamond Products - On-site Manufacturing

  Diamond Products - On-site Manufacturing

When purchasing core barrels, not all customers buy the standard barrels and this presented Diamond Products with the opportunity to establish a manufacturing division where specific size barrels can be made to the customer’s specifications and project requirements.

Our Manufacturing Division offers re-tipping of used core barrels, but will also manufacture barrels that does not form part of our standard stock sizes. This facility gives our customers the peace of mind that they are still receiving the same level of service excellence, whether they purchased standard stock sized core barrels, or custom made barrels – all at the same product supplier – the proverbial One-Stop Shop!

Refurbished Warehouse Floor

Refurbished Warehouse Floor

HP Floors Cape, headed up by Alan Hooper, was awarded the contract to refurbish the floor of a warehouse based in Cape Town’s Foreshore.

The total surface area comprised 4300 m² and had an existing bitumen coating that had to be removed.  The allocated period in which to do this was 7 days – this being a challenge in itself.  Fortunately, the Diamond Products tooling and equipment met this challenge head on!

The project was completed using 2 x 350E Electric Floor Grinders in conjunction with 2 x 1220 Blastrac vacuums.  Certain areas of the floor was also scarified using the Blastrac vacuum – all ensuring a dustless operation.  PCD wings was used to remove the bitumen up to 7mm thick in certain areas.  30/40 grit diamond grinding wings was used for grinding down the concrete.

The end result was a project completed on time, minimal dust during the operation and a happy customer!
