Refurbished Warehouse Floor

HP Floors Cape, headed up by Alan Hooper, was awarded the contract to refurbish the floor of a warehouse based in Cape Town’s Foreshore.

The total surface area comprised 4300 m² and had an existing bitumen coating that had to be removed.  The allocated period in which to do this was 7 days – this being a challenge in itself.  Fortunately, the Diamond Products tooling and equipment met this challenge head on!

The project was completed using 2 x 350E Electric Floor Grinders in conjunction with 2 x 1220 Blastrac vacuums.  Certain areas of the floor was also scarified using the Blastrac vacuum – all ensuring a dustless operation.  PCD wings was used to remove the bitumen up to 7mm thick in certain areas.  30/40 grit diamond grinding wings was used for grinding down the concrete.

The end result was a project completed on time, minimal dust during the operation and a happy customer!
